PAL-CON, Ltd. repairs, services, refurbishes, manufactures, removes, and installs gas turbine regenerators for the natural gas and electric utility industries. PAL-CON, Ltd. is expanding its industrial coating services department. PAL-CON, Ltd. is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable INDUSTRIAL PAINTER to perform these services. The INDUSTRIAL PAINTER may be required to perform a variety of duties from uncomplicated to complex, working primarily on equipment, machinery, and structural components. The INDUSTRIAL PAINTER must know and be able to employ the appropriate methods, practices, tools, equipment, material, and safety procedures necessary to properly prepare and apply various industrial coatings; PAINTER must be able to adjust mixtures, pressures, etc. as necessary based on materials, supplies, and conditions.
The INDUSTRIAL PAINTER must possess the physical characteristics to perform the essential functions of this position. He must be self-motivated, flexible, and must demonstrate strong leadership skills. He must be able to manage time effectively and efficiently. The INDUSTRIAL PAINTER must be proactive. He must be able to perform basic math calculations; troubleshoot and solve problems; and read, comprehend, and interpret specifications and directions. The INDUSTRIAL PAINTER may be required to travel to project sites.
The INDUSTRIAL PAINTER for PAL-CON, Ltd. will be responsible for maintaining the equipment, tools, and materials used for each coating process. He must be organized, cooperative, and detail oriented; he must be able to multi-task and use time wisely in order to meet deadlines. He will be expected to assist with miscellaneous projects as assigned. The INDUSTRIAL PAINTER will be required to keep all he's privy to in strict confidence; his commitment to PAL-CON, Ltd.'s success is expected.
The INDUSTRIAL PAINTER must have at least five years' industrial coating application experience using high solid acrylic polyester epoxies with urethane clear coats in addition to other coatings as required. PAL-CON, Ltd. typically uses oil based products applied using low pressure high volume spray in less than ideal environments that will often require PAINTER to work out of position. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Good math skills are essential; effective communication skills are mandatory; and working knowledge of proper coating application procedures is vital. The INDUSTRIAL PAINTER may be required to use abrasive blasting equipment as well as lift, sit, stand, squat, stoop, kneel, climb, bend, or sustain an otherwise awkward position for extended periods of time in potentially varying environments. He/she must possess a valid state's driver's license and appropriate insurance. He/she must understand, speak, read, and write English. He/she must be able to pass a drug test. The INDUSTRIAL PAINTER will report directly to the Production Manager/authorized representative. He/she must follow the proper chain of command. He/she must be willing and able to travel - with and without advanced notice.
The INDUSTRIAL PAINTER's rate of pay may be negotiable based up experience; three years' experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred. The shop's standard work hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM until 5:30 PM; however, as production requirements change, this position's hours will vary as well. This position is a full time position; a 90-day introductory period applies. PAL-CON, Ltd. provides competitive wages paid weekly and benefits with varying eligibility requirements for participation.
