POSITION SUMMARY The HR Generalist will be responsible managing the day-to-day operations of the HR department.

DUTIES • Hiring: Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates for open positions. • Onboarding: Implementing new hire orientation and employee recognition programs. • Compliance: Reviewing, tracking, and documenting compliance with training, continuing education, and work assessments. • Performance: Assisting with performance evaluations and monitoring employee morale. • Benefits: Administering pay, benefits, and leave. • Policies: Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with local and national regulations. • Communication: Creating and distributing internal communications, and assisting with the communication of employee handbooks, directories, and organizational charts. • Relationships: Developing and maintaining relationships with employment agencies, vendors, and stakeholders. • Investigations: Handling complaints and disciplinary procedures. • Consulting: Consulting with and managing internal and external partners, such as legal counsel and benefits plan vendors.

COMPETENCIES • Communication: the HR generalist needs to be able to communicate well with both employees and management. He/she needs to be able to listen to employees and adjust his/her language to speak with different people. • Problem solving: the HR generalist needs to be able to develop creative solutions to employee problems. He/she may mediate conflicts between employees. • Confidentiality: the HR generalist needs to be able to keep sensitive information private. • Talent acquisition: the HR generalist needs to be able to identify and attract the right candidates for a job. • Training and development: the HR generalist may need to identify employee skill gaps and design/ deliver training programs. • Knowledge of employment laws: the HR generalist needs to be familiar with employment laws. • Empathy and emotional intelligence: the HR generalist needs to be able to create a safe space for employees to share their concerns. • Transparency, trust, and caring: the HR generalist need to be committed, dependable, transparent, trustworthy, and caring as well as quality results driven.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE • 3-5 years of relevant HR experience • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Requires excess amounts of sitting, looking at a computer. • Requires excess amounts of correspondence - written and verbal
