PAL-CON, Ltd. repairs, services, refurbishes, removes, and installs gas turbine regenerators for the natural gas and electric utility industries. Regenerators are built and installed for efficient heat transfer from one medium to another. The FIELD SUPERINTENDENT will be required to perform a variety of duties from moderately difficult to complex in order to ensure safe, timely, efficient, and accurate installation of structures to blue printed specifications as required to meet our clients’ schedules.

The FIELD SUPERINTENDENT will assist in the planning and supervision of projects. He/she will be required to pay close attention to all employees, determine requirements for projects, and time tables for job completion. The SUPERINTENDENT must possess above average communication and interpersonal skills to ensure employees understand their positions and to delegated tasks. He/she must be highly detail oriented; make and retain detailed notes and accurate records; supervise production; and be able to implement processes necessary to alter or adjust productivity. He /she must be familiar with the materials used and tasks performed PAL-CON, Ltd. He/she must be willing and able to perform all tasks himself/herself. The FIELD SUPERINTENDENT must be familiar with safety rules and regulations as they apply to the work being performed by PAL-CON, Ltd. on a job site.

Specifically, the FIELD SUPERINTENDENT will maintain and monitor productivity, ensure the timely supply of materials, create and maintain a job schedule, accurately track and record employees’ times, supervise the overall operation and productivity of his/her crew. He/she will be considered the liaison between our office and our employees. He/she may be responsible for hiring, training, and disciplining employees. He/she must be well versed in PAL-CON, Ltd.’s safety programs as well as our clients’ safety requirements.

The FIELD SUPERINTENDENT will be responsible to set and maintain the tone on the job site. He/she will set the standards to be followed by his/her subordinates. He/she will ensure quality workmanship and compliance with PAL-CON, Ltd.’s policies and procedures. He/she will be the on-site liaison between PAL-CON, Ltd. and our client. He/she will be proactive and address all matters in a professional, respectful manner.

Two years’ experience in a construction site setting, pipeline, compressor station, rigging and lifting, and project management is required; a college degree in a related field is a plus. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. The FIELD SUPERINTENDENT may be required to work in an outdoor or indoor environment for extended periods of time in mild to extreme conditions. He/she must possess a valid state’s driver’s license (a CDL is a plus) and appropriate insurance; must be computer literate; must be able to climb ladders, operate equipment, operate hand or power tools; must be able to bend, lift, sit, stand, kneel, squat, etc. for extended periods of time; must understand, speak, read, and write English. The FIELD SUPERINTENDENT will report directly to the CTO. He/she must follow the proper chain of command.

The FIELD SUPERINTENDENT’s rate of pay is negotiable based upon his/her experience. The on-site work hours are typically 7:00 AM until 5:30 PM, Monday through Saturday; however, as production requirements change, this position’s hours will vary as well. The FIELD SUPERINTENDENT is required to travel with crews. This position is subject to a 90-day introductory period.
