PAL-CON, Ltd. repairs, services, refurbishes, manufactures, removes, and installs gas turbine regenerators for the natural gas and electric utility industries. Regenerators are built and installed for efficient heat transfer from one medium to another. PAL-CON, Ltd. also provides custom design, fabrication, installation, and various other products and services for a very diverse client base. A GENERAL LABORER will be required to perform a variety of manual tasks from simple to moderately difficult as assigned by his/her production supervisor. A GENERAL LABORER must take direction well and follow instructions without deviation.
A GENERAL LABORER must be well organized, cooperative, detail oriented, and willing to learn. He/she must be able to work with others and communicate well. A GENERAL LABORER must be/become familiar with the methods, practices, tools, equipment, materials, supplies, and safety procedures necessary to use in the course of working in a fabrication shop environment. A GENERAL LABORER must be able to operate hand and power tools and perform general housekeeping duties to ensure the area is tidy and free from debris. A GENERAL LABORER may be required to work in an outdoor environment for extended periods of time and operate basic equipment. A GENERAL LABORER may be required to lift up to 50 pounds, sit, stand, squat, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, and bend for extended periods of time in awkward positions in varying environments. There is the potential to travel throughout the USA as a GENERAL LABORER; being willing and able to travel is required unless otherwise advised in writing prior to hire.
Experience on a fast-paced construction site or in a fabrication shop environment is preferred; the ability to read a tape measure and perform basic mathematical calculations are necessary. A GENERAL LABORER must have a strong work ethic, be flexible, and be a self-motivated individual who can work independently when required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A valid driver license and appropriate insurance are required. A GENERAL LABORER must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English as well as pass a drug test.
The GENERAL LABORER position is an entry level position with opportunity for advancement. The hours for this position will be determined by production requirements; however, typical fabrication shop hours for are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM until 5:30 PM. This position is subject to a 90-day introductory period.
