Hydrotex Excavation by Pal-Con, Ltd., specializes in non-destructive digging using high pressure water to cut through soil while a high-volume vacuum removes the debris; this type of excavation uses a well-equipped hydrovac truck, an operator, and an operator’s assistant. Services provided by HydroTex Excavation include horizontal drilling, safe potholing, rig and frac tank cleaning, spill cleaning, daylighting underground utilities, trenching, pre-excavation work, pipeline maintenance, underground utility locating, and new installation drilling.

The hydrovac technician will be responsible for performing tasks as assigned by the operator. The hydrovac operator and technician will be responsible for the timely completion of each project. They will be responsible for inspecting and setting up at the project location, following company and client safety guidelines, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, and accurately completing the required paperwork timely.

The hydrovac technician must be able to read, write, and speak English, follow directions, adhere to applicable regulations, and work alone or with a team. He/she must be able to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time in varying environments; must be able to lift up to 80 pounds multiple times throughout the course of the project; must be able to sit, stand, kneel, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and dig in locations that may be uneven and/or restrictive. He/she may be required to demonstrate mechanical aptitude, must be able to read prints/location mapping, must be familiar with basic underground utilities, must be skilled in the safe operation of heavy equipment, must be able to converse with others clearly and concisely.

It’s preferred that the hydrovac technician have at least one year’s experience operating or assisting with the operation of a hydrovac truck; in lieu of prior experience, at its sole discretion, Hydrotex Excavation may conduct on-the-job training to those who demonstrate a willingness to learn the skill set necessary to properly operate the hydrovac equipment.

The work schedule associated with hydrovac operations will vary depending on client, type of work, and location of work; the work schedule may include evenings, weekends, overnights, and extended hours. The willingness and ability to travel is required.
